A challenging dialogue between ICT (Information and Communication Technology) experts and social innovators was organized in Belgium by Roger Torrenti, CEO of Oriones and a resource person at the GNH3 conference in Bangkok. The workshop was co-organized with the European Union and the Club of Rome.
The aim is to explore implications of paradigm shift in society for ICT development and moreover how ICT can support transformation processes in beyond GDP societies.
Presentations were given by Jon Hall, OECD Project on Measuring Progress of Societies, Puntsho Rabten of the Centre for Bhutan Studies, Nic Marks of the New Economics Foundation (Happy Planet Index) and Prof. Takayoshi Kusago of University of Osaka/GLOCOL.
An open consultation will be facilitated on the www.paradiso-fp7.eu website and a conference will be held in Brussels 22-23 January 2009.
